Welcome,
"Selamat Datang"
Welcome to the "2nd International Conference on The Medicinal Use of Honey”.
The first conference was held in Kota Bharu, Malaysia on 26-28th August 2006. It was very well attended. The second conference would have taken place in Lahore Pakistan on November 11-13th 2008, however due to unavoidable circumstances, it was not made possible. I sincerely hope this second conference would also be well attended by research scientists/clinicians working on honey. Many studies have taken place and a lot more new scientific evidence on the medicinal uses of honey have been published since the last time we met.
‘Malaysia is truly Asia’- this is a well known catch-phrase describing Malaysians who are made up of people originating from various countries in Asia. The rich cultural diversity and the ethnicity is what make Malaysia different form other Asian countries. One of these culture is the Malay culture. Kelantan state, located on the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia is described as the ‘cradle of the Malay culture’. Kelantan is bordered by Thailand in the north, Perak in the west, Terengganu in the south-east and Pahang in the south. It faces the South China Sea to the east and has a stretch of beautiful white beaches. Kota Bharu, the capital city of Kelantan is a good place to sample the rich Malay culture and cuisine. The handicrafts they produce, from beautiful batik designs, to silverware crafts and basket-weaving are much sought after by both foreigners and Malaysians. Kelantan indeed is a unique travel destination because of its splendid beaches, rich cultural heritage, ornate handicrafts and wood carvings.
The speakers who will deliver in the keynote, plenary and symposium sessions are renowned researchers/practitioners of honey. This conference would be a common platform where surgeons, physicians, oncologists, gynecologists, dermatologists, microbiologists, dentists, pathologists, researchers and complimentary medicine practitioners share their views on the therapeutic uses of honey.
Come and join us!
